Update: Ayiti/Haiti
June
We're very excited to report that our recent partnership with Global Hope has resulted in some significant progress on our Hope4Haiti project.
After being introduced, through our friend Dick Flesher of Schools Count Corp., Global Hope decided to donate $2,600 to cover teacher/staff salaries for two months.
As if that wasn't progress enough, the Global Hope Board decided to allocate $4,800 to fund the building of a sustainable water source for IMN.
To follow the story, visit the recent Global Hope blog:
We can't express our gratitude to all of the Global Hope network for their decision to partner with us as we work to help rebuild IMN Community School.
Mesi Global Hope!
More exciting news to report for June!
We received a very generous donation from a group of students from Officer Donald J. Marquez Charter School in Chicago just days ago.
Ms. Rosetta Fair's Third Grade Class-Room 203, along with other staff and students worked throughout May and June to raise funds and collect medical and personal care supplies to send to Maxandre. Funds were raised through coin drives, and the sale of Hope4Haiti cinch bags and water bottles.
We're very excited to report that $580 has been sent to Maxandre in recent days that will help to fund the final construction of the Kindergarten classrooms.
We were also able to send many of the donated supplies to Maxandre in a recent delivery, thanks to our friend Erik Badger, Project Manager of Haiti Partners.
Once again, a special thank you to Rosetta Fair for spearheading this effort and we'll share some photos of our new friends in Chicago shortly.
April/May
We apologize for the delay in posting the many updates we've received since the beginning of April.
Maxandre reports that 120 of his students have been able to return and he's received three new students since the earthquake.
To view the most recent progress from IMN, please view John Engle's videos from early May.
A very special thanks to Dick Flesher (Schools Count Corp.) and his friend Dawn Oler for their incredible updates from April. To view the many details of that trip, please visit our Hope4Haiti page.
Pictured below are a couple of images from their visit to meet Maxandre and the students at IMN in April. The most impressive shot we'll share here is of the incredible progress that has been made since February 16.
In 60 days time, Maxandre has been able to get two of three buildings completed!
These two pictures represent the construction that has resulted from our Hope4Haiti initiative in recent months.

April Progress
Back to School!
In recent weeks Maxandre and his staff have been able to welcome back some of the students (Grades 1 thru 5).
Construction of the first two classrooms is near completion and work has begun on additional classrooms.
All of the progress reported here is being funded by your generous donations. Right now Kids4Good and Schools Count Corp. are the major sources of funding for all that you're seeing here. We can't thank you enough!
Our friend, Erik Badger, Project Manager Haiti Partners, just returned from Haiti with some updated footage of the school and of the students.

We've raised over $10,000 in four weeks!
Maxandre, our friend and Director of our adopted school, Institution Mixte Nao Community School, has been here in recent days to tell his story of survival and try to raise awareness about his plans to rebuild his school in Darbonne.

Coming Together to Rebuild:
Haiti Partners, www.haitipartners.org, has agreed to act as the fiscal agent for Maxandre and Institution Mixte Nao Community School.
Also, we've received an endorsement from a local NFP, Schools Count Corp.,
www.schoolscountcorp.org, who will be working with us in the coming months to actively fundraise for the rebuilding of IMN.
Again, more details on making a donation are available on the Hope4Haiti page. Merci!
