What's This All About?
We've all agreed that to help Maxandre and our friends in Darbonne to rebuild and move on, we'll have to go about it in a multitude of ways.
Enter BagsofHope4Haiti.
This is another way to participate in the process of supporting the rebuilding project for Institution Mixte Nao Community School.
We'll be working with Maxandre in the coming weeks to finalize the list of supplies most critical for the returning students. We'll start with the basics. Notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers.
We're currently working with some school groups to conduct special Build a School Bag of Hope4Haiti assembly sessions.
For this, the students will make a $10 donation and assist in the assembly of outfitting the Lespwa school bags with some of the basics. In the coming month or so, we'll be working to get these outfitted bags down to Haiti and delivered to Maxandre and his students as they begin to return to their temporary classroom setting.
Scroll Down to an update about School Supplies being delivered to some of the students! This is an interim plan.
A $15 donation will get the students/participants here a Lespwa bag of their own in addition to the outfitted bag for a student at IMN.
All of the net proceeds from this project will go directly to the rebuilding project of Institution Mixte Nao Community School.
Our initial goal is to build enough School Bags of H4H, to provide for all of the returning students at Institution Mixte Nao. That will be about 140 bags - want each staff member to receive one too!
Close to Meeting Our First Goal!
To date we've already secured over 35 of these through the Hornet Swim Club's efforts. Special thanks to Debbie Guagliardo for organizing this effort.
We're now making arrangements with a special group of Second-graders from St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lake Forest, IL to complete our goal for IMN.

Special thanks to Susan Grover for coordinating this project there.
We hope to interest other clubs/classes/organizations to conduct their own Build A School Bag of Hope4Haiti assembly. We'll be working to identify other schools in the area that might benefit from this particular initiative.

School Supplies Delivered!
Thanks to our friend, Erik Badger, Project Manager Haiti Partners, we were able to get some basic school pacs delivered to the students at IMN on March 25.
These mini school pacs consisted of a poly two-pocket, three-prong folder, two pencils, one pen and a ruler. We'll be working to deliver enough Lespwa Cinch Bags (pictured at top of this page) to each student by the end of the month.
For the moment, medical supplies and tents are still a priority and are accounting for our need to limit supplies being delivered. Weight restrictions on the airlines are continuing to make getting supplies delivered a challenge.
